Historians disagree about who first wore trousers and whether or not a skirt is inherently male or female but at HIGH we thoroughly enjoy mixing everything up and present skirts in every style from ultra flirty feminine versions to designs that blur the boundaries between the categories - in fact the skirt-pant hybrid is something of a signature style.

This season is no different and this duality is beautifully demonstrated by two pieces from the HIGH Use collection; the ‘Narrative’ skirt and the ‘Freedom’ skirt-pant

The Freedom skirt in fine striped ivory cotton-nylon seersucker is divided asymmetrically and has a waistband that extends into a wrap-around belt. Volume is created by deep pleats at front and back and there are deep super-practical pockets in front.

A very dropped inseam introduces the pant aspect while allowing for drape and ease of movement and the pre-wrinkled texture is extremely user-friendly. As its name implies the whole pieces is casual, comfortable and perfect for travel.

More classically feminine yet still super-easy, The Narrative skirt is in alternate sections of lightweight cotton/linen mix and cotton poplin and is worn with a self-fabric belt.

The silhouette is a full A-line with an asymmetrically cut hip basque, inverted pleat at one side and long vent at other. There are hip pockets and back pockets.

The slightly asymmetric hem has off-centre vents that really add to the movement, which is ideal for summer.

Both designs epitomise HIGH’s attitude to contemporary everyday elegance, these are modern pieces of clothing that are comfortable to wear, useful to have and lovely to look at.
